LIBRARY

The IZUM library is a special library operating within the Institute of Information Science in Maribor. It was established within the Computer Centre of the University of Maribor. In 1989 the library became an active member of the COBISS system. The library is located on the ground floor of IZUM’s headquarters at the address Prešernova ulica 17 in Maribor.

The library collection includes literature from the fields of library science, information science and computer science as well as some items from the fields of economy and technology. Serials represent an important part of the collection. All items are stored according to their respective fields.

Members of the IZUM library are IZUM employees. Members of other libraries and other visitors can access the literature in the reading room with six reading spaces and a computer available. Members of other libraries can access the material in the reading room or through interlibrary loan.

The library is open each workday from 8:00 to 16:00.

Interlibrary loan for IZUM library members​

We use interlibrary loan only for ordering academic and study material for the members of the IZUM library. Study material is only ordered if it is not available in any of the libraries in Maribor. The loan period and the terms of use depend on the library lending the material. Material not available in any of the Slovenian libraries is ordered from abroad through the University of Maribor Library, the National and University Library or the Central Technological Library at the University of Ljubljana.

Interlibrary loan for customers from Slovenia or abroad

Members of other libraries can borrow the material from the IZUM library through their own library. Interlibrary loan is available for monographs, individual issues of serials and copies of articles.

Delivery time:

    • copy of an article (24 hours)

A longer loan period requires a separate arrangement.
